Dairy farms rely on highly efficient cooling of the milk to keep the milk at a consistent tem-perature of about 4°C in the milk tanks until the milk is collected for further processing. Milk is stored at the farms in either closed or open milk tanks. To maintain the quality of the milk it is quickly cooled from 38°C leaving the cow to 4°C in the milk tank. The milk tank is typically equipped with a mixer to accelerate the cooling process and homogenize the milk. Capacity range is customized from 100 liters to 60,000 liters.
